I'm so tired, but I really want to get this out! I finished the artwork I was working on; it's not very detailed but I'm rusty and fretting over making it better than I was at my best is very, very silly.

I'm fantasising about trying a new type of collaborative fanwork -- something small, and half-zine, half-game, all website. I'm wondering who might want to be a part of it. I'll need to ask humans. Terrifying creatures.

Coding! (under the cut)

Prompt Claims

We had a long discussion about how to best create a "claim" type on the Fandom Coders discord recently. The issue is that there are a few different forms claims can take: if the collection is anonymous, claims are shown as "3 anonymous claims" and if it isn't, there's a list of usernames that I can convert into an array (a programmer's list): ["user 1", "user 2", "user 3"]. Or there can be no claims at all. The question we were trying to answer is "How do we best represent this?".

The discussion process involved me having to justify my reasoning behind various decisions, which, thankfully, I managed to do! claims: { count: number, usernames: string[] | null } | null; seems a workable solution for now.

npm packages

Today I helped someone work out how to use an npm package they'd downloaded. There's a lot of new skills here: There's using the terminal, there's whatever an npm is, there's using the right words to download the package (I did something wrong at least 3 times when trying to help!) However, the difficulties here all came down to 1. writing the the import statement correctly (in this case, import intersection from 'set.prototype.intersection', and writing the function as a function (stand alone) rather than trying to invoke it as a method, where it's attached to another variable.

I am too tired to explain that all, I'm sorry!

So, what's next? I got to ramble about the plot of one of my sleeping fanfics to someone yesterday and it was SO exciting, it's just a little weird thematically because... I don't want to get too into it, but it's a dabihawks fic and the way they end up together in the end is a tragedy from Dabi's pov. But that's going to be deeply unexpected for any reader who's not paying close attention to the theme? Maybe I just need to foreshadow the ending better. Maybe I should bring in Hawks' relationship (and lack thereof) with his mother to round out the themes??? ohh, there's an idea... oh and I forgot about the mask theme...

Hopefully I'll squeeze in some writing, bookbinding, low stakes art, and personal website things over the next few days.

a collaborative half-zine, half-game, all website work sounds fascinating! I'm intrigued by fanworks in different mediums than just like, straightforward fic or art.

The claims complications sound like a lot! The Dabihawks also sounds like its own complication, tragedy is hard.

Good luck with all your projects!!
